Meet Alejandra

I am an integrative psychotherapist with experience in relational psychoanalysis. My aim is to help individuals understand the root causes of their difficulties to transform their lives in meaningful ways.

I work with clients on a wide range of issues, including: dealing with anxiety and/or depression, difficulties with pregnancy, postpartum depression, pregnancy loss, abuse (past and/or present), addiction, bereavement, and trauma, among other concerns. I appreciate how past experiences can impact present relationships and contribute to feelings of low mood, anxiety and disconnection.

I understand how hard it can be to take the first step to start therapy, but I also know how rewarding and liberating this process can be. I believe that we grow and develop in connection with others and that the crucible for change lies within the therapeutic relationship.  To look at ourselves from another person’s perspective enables us to see ourselves in ways that we haven’t before.  A new, compassionate perspective can be transformational.

Training and Experience

I completed my undergraduate studies at Oxford and Georgetown Universities and graduated with honours. I then received a Masters degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent’s University.

I gained experience working at Help Counselling (a charity established by Richard Branson 50 years ago), West London Centre for Counselling (which includes Prof John Nuttall and Johan Barrett among its Board of Trustees), City Pregnancy Counselling and Psychotherapy (which provides therapy for individuals experiencing difficulties with pregnancy, pregnancy loss and related issues), and Addiction Therapy (which offers therapy support for individuals dealing with an addiction). I have also worked in an inpatient unit for men and women with acute mental disorders such as schizophrenia and psychotic and paranoid symptoms.

Further, my experience includes working internationally for over 20 years with executives who are navigating professional change and/or facing challenging work situations. I recognise the demands of corporate life and the implications it can have on personal well-being.

I am a flexible practitioner and can work with clients in-person or virtually, short- and long-term. I can work in English and Spanish.
